What is the Cayman Islands Global Citizen Concierge Program?

Think of it as a tropical spin on the work from home concept. The Cayman Islands government has created a special program specifically for digital nomads who have the financial freedom and flexibility to work remotely. It enables you to live and work in the Cayman Islands for up to two years by securing a Global Citizen Certificate.

Why would you want to apply?

Apart from the obvious sun, sea, and sand appeal, the Cayman Islands has cemented its reputation for being one of the safest places in the world by demonstrating the power of good leadership, an excellent infrastructure and unity during the COVID-19 pandemic. Subsequently, the result has been low numbers of COVID-19 cases, an effective system of testing; a greater sense of security than has been experienced elsewhere in the world. How Does the Cayman Islands Global Citizen Concierge Program Work?

Prospective digital nomads must show that they are employed outside of the Cayman Islands and have the financial resources to live and work remotely from here. You will not be able to offer your goods or services within the Cayman Islands and the certificate is only valid while your employment exists.
Once you’re approved for the program and have acquired a Global Citizen Certificate, the Global Citizen Concierge Program team will help you organise your flights to the Cayman Islands. They’ll also assist you in meeting any relevant quarantine requirements which are in place at the time of your arrival.

The latest date for applying to the program is October 31st, 2021.

How much does it cost to acquire a Global Citizen Certificate?

The Global Citizen Concierge Certificate Fee for up to 2 people is US$1,469 per year. The Global Citizen Concierge Certificate Fee for each additional dependent is US$500 per dependent, per year.
In addition to this, the first year’s fee is paid as part of the application, and the second year’s fee must be paid by the end of the first year.

What are the Criteria for Applying for the Cayman Islands Global Citizen Concierge Program?

These are the things you will need to provide:
1. A valid passport
2. A notarized bank reference
3. Proof of current health insurance coverage for all applicants in your party
4. A clean police clearance/record from your country of origin.
5. A letter proving that you are employed by a business outside the Cayman Islands, stating your position and showing that you meet the minimum income requirements:
Applying as an Individual – Minimum household income of US$100,000
Registering as a Two-Person Household (with a spouse or partner) – Minimum household income of US$150,000 for two-person households.
Applying as a family with children or dependents – Minimum household income of US$180,000.

Can I travel in and out of the Cayman Islands with the Global Citizen Certificate?

Yes, you can leave and return to the Cayman Islands anytime during the 24 months, but you have to physically be in the Cayman Islands for at least 90 days total during that time.
